Resstende and the restyling of the Assolombarda Headquarters: innovative solar shades for the internal courtyard
Resstende played a key role in designing, producing, and installing the solar shades for the internal courtyard of Palazzo Assolombarda in Milan. The restyling project was entrusted to architect Federico Colletta from the C03Progetti studio, who reimagined the spaces of the Assolombarda Palace, creating a new meeting point within the renovated building, located in a strategic area just a few meters from the Duomo. The restyling of Palazzo Assolombarda specifically involved the creation of an internal piazza equipped with multifunctional spaces, capable of promoting new ways of working and living in the palace. As Alessandro Spada, President of Assolombarda, commented, it has become “a place of dialogue and inclusion to support the economic and social growth of a great metropolis like Milan.”
In this renewal context, thanks to Resstende’s intervention, the Association’s headquarters has been transformed into a location suitable for hosting events and cultural moments open to the public. The company installed seven horizontal, motorized roller blinds, Dallas TKO 135 model with Traction kit, useful for shading the internal courtyard and making the space more livable and comfortable. With anodized silver finish structures, gray accessories, and exposed bottom, the Traction kit system ensures extraordinary performance with reduced dimensions. Its minimal design does not compromise the building’s aesthetics but enhances its geometry, perfectly integrating into the architectural context in which it is inserted.
Rossella Gerosa, Project Manager of Resstende, who oversaw the project in direct collaboration with Intesa Costruzioni, stated: “It is always motivating to have the opportunity to contribute to projects of this caliber, working closely with prestigious entities. Besides designing the completed blinds, we have already planned to add more systems to make them convergent and fully cover the courtyard in the future, if necessary. Our commitment has always been to offer innovative and high-quality solutions to improve the well-being and comfort of working and social environments.”
With an alternating layout, the solar shades are characterized by the white shading fabric Starscreen – code 08015, thus creating shaded areas that ensure the necessary living comfort for enjoying outdoor spaces. Fire-resistant, recyclable, and with an openness factor of 3.5%, it guarantees a pleasant transparency that helps to modulate solar glare.
